Block Garden
Plant blocks on an 8×8 garden bed. Fill a row or column to clear it, and keep the garden from filling up.
How to play Block Garden
You get three blocks at a time in the tray below the board. Drag each one onto the garden. Blocks cannot be rotated, so each one has to fit exactly as shown.
When a whole row or a whole column is filled, it clears and you score points. Once all three blocks are placed, you get three new ones. The game ends when none of your remaining blocks fit anywhere on the board.
Controls
Press on a block in the tray and drag it onto the board, then let go to place it. The block floats a little above your finger so you can see where it will land. A faint preview shows the exact spot, and rows or columns that would clear light up in yellow. Blocks that cannot fit anywhere fade out in the tray.
Scoring
| Move | Points |
|---|---|
| Placing a block | 1 per tile |
| Clearing 1 line | 10 |
| Clearing 2 lines at once | 40 |
| Clearing 3 lines at once | 90 |
| Combo streak (clearing on back-to-back moves) | Extra 10 per line for each move in the streak |
| Emptying the whole garden | 300 bonus |
Multi-line clears grow fast: the base score is 10 times the number of lines squared. Setting up a row and a column to clear with the same block is the quickest way to a high score.
Tips
- Keep a space for the big pieces. The 3×3 square and the five-long lines are the blocks that usually end a game, so leave room for them.
- Fill from the edges and corners inward. Holes in the middle of the board are the hardest to fill.
- Before placing, check all three blocks in the tray. The order matters: place the awkward one while there is still room.
- Build towards crossing lines. A row and a column that share an empty cell can both clear with one tile.
- Do not chase combos at any cost. A clean, open board is worth more than one big clear.
Questions
Can I rotate blocks?
No. Like most block puzzles of this type, pieces keep their shape. Planning around that is the puzzle.
Is there a time limit?
No. Take as long as you like on every move.
Will I always get a block that fits?
When a new set of three is dealt, at least one of them can be placed if the board allows it. After that, it is up to your planning.
